Komedia Entertainment
Komedia operates a management and production arm which represents emerging and established talent. Reflecting Komedia's core values and areas of expertise, the company has worked with leading character, physical and musical sketch comedy acts together with distinctive music artistes.
Komedia Entertainment has produced numerous five star, Perrier Award recognised and Fringe First Winning Edinburgh shows, together with national and international tours. The company also produces comedy and music CD & DVD releases, including BBC Radio 4 comedy series and BBC TV projects.

 Richard Daws
Richard partnered with the Komedia arts and entertainment organisation in 2001 to form Komedia Entertainment.
His previous experience included co-founding Victoria Real, an innovative media outfit which subsequently became one of the UK's fastest growing private companies (1st Dun & Bradstreet Hot 100 and 4th in the Sunday Times Fast Track 1997-2001). Victoria Real won a string of industry awards, including ones for ground breaking iTV and online projects which included Big Brother (C4). Daws personally picked up the Emmy Award for Outstanding Editing in LA in 1998 for his work on Stomp Out Loud (HBO) and edited a Classic Film Sequence for the 75th Oscars Ceremony. As Chairman he set-up Victoria Real's award-winning Australian business, together with the UK's first MSc in Digital TV with the University of Brighton.
In 2000, the Victoria Real founders partnered the company with international production giant Endemol, leading to their sale of the company. Daws is now a shareholder and Director of Komedia.
 Hannah Booth
Hannah first worked with Komedia Entertainment during the extended tour of 'Count Arthur Strong - The Musical?' in 2008, also accompanying this show to the Edinburgh Festival that same year (not to mention personally selling a now infamous line of 'signed sausages'...). She is now our Producer & Production Manager, working on live stage, radio and TV projects.
Hannah graduated in English Literature & Drama from Exeter University in 1997, also qualifying as a teacher and subsequently teaching full-time for 11 years or so within East London. The final 3 years of this period were spent as an Assistant Head Teacher, SENCo & Inclusion Manager at Carpenters Primary School, Stratford. She still teaches occasionally on a part-time basis, mostly as a class-supply or specialist teacher.
A main focus of Hannah's current production work is with our Award winning act Count Arthur Strong, liaising with venues throughout the UK on National Tours, working closely with BBC Radio 4 and also with other BBC TV comedy projects.
David Lavender
Co-founder and Artistic Director of Komedia Brighton, David works as an
artistic consultant to Komedia Entertainment.
At Komedia Brighton David has programmed theatre and comedy whilst also
working as director and consultant with collaborating artists and
performers. He directs Komedia in-house productions and is one of the
directors responsible for setting up the Aurora Nova programme of
international dance and theatre on the Edinburgh Fringe.

Komedia Brighton
This award-winning venue is located in the heart of Brighton's Cultural Quarter. The unique European style venue, has two exciting, flexible performance spaces and promotes and producers one of the largest, most diverse arts and entertainment programmes in the UK with over 700 performances of theatre, comedy, music and cabaret every year. Winner of the Arts Council England's Best Family Friendly Theatre in the South East Award and the Chortle Best Comedy Venue in the South in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.

Komedia Facilities
Komedia operates its Brighton live venue as a radio and TV studio facility and runs it's own bespoke central Brighton post-production house. The multi-award-winning Theatre and Cabaret venue has been host to numerous radio and TV recordings for the BBC and independents such as Talkback.
Alongside this Komedia now also operates a new editing facility, which post produces broadcast TV series for the BBC, Channel 4 and Five.

Komedia Edinburgh
Komedia produces the hugely successful Aurora Nova programme at St.
Stephen's on the Edinburgh Fringe. The venue produces and promotes national and international theatre and dance and has picked up a host of Awards including The Guardian Best Edinburgh Venue 2004, 8 Scotsman Fringe Firsts, 6 Herald Archangel awards and The International Theatre Institute's award for Excellence in International Theatre.
